Assistant Engineer for Continuous Improvement

Description:

  • Work as part of the engineering team to support operations by driving continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Evaluate automation processes, leverage new technologies and develop initiatives to improve product quality, efficiency, cost reductions, and employee safety
  • Conduct root cause analysis and determine corrective actions for quality, process, safety and environmental issues
  • Evaluate product quality to identify trends, determine solutions, then work with various teams to plan, initiate, and implement improvements
  • Scope to include (not limited to): Electromechanical, hydraulic and automation systems, labor efficiency/safety/best practices, develop standard and machine-specific operating procedures, environmental, new products, and other special projects.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with continuous improvement, process efficiency, product quality, electromechanical, automated manufacturing, and environmental or equivalent functions
  • Experience in manufacturing environments a plus and display comfort in supervisory roles where safety, optimizing efficiency and quality are the goal
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral), and demonstrate team-friendly attitude
  • Strong technical, administrative, and computer skills including MS Office
  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary to complete work assignments
