JOB SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst will develop, interpret and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control. Reporting to the Divisional Controller, this position performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance - including gathering and organizing business case inputs for two locations.

Financial analyst responsibilities include financial reporting, budget and forecast analysis, and divisional operational analysis.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Financial Reporting:
    • Maintain, update, and publish daily, weekly and monthly divisional reports, including but not limited to daily sales and margin reporting, weekly margin and expenses reporting, monthly income statements and operation reporting
    • Develop and maintain monthly reporting, ad hoc requests and expense allocations
    • Complete ad hoc reporting requests out of multiple systems to assist with business analysis, month-end close processes and financial audit
    • Government reporting and quarterly tax filings
  • Budget and Forecast Analysis:
    • Develop and maintain financial forecasts and operational budgets
    • Provide proactive financial counsel with business leaders in planning, measuring, reporting and improving performance
    • Consolidating and publishing divisional reports for executive review
  • Operations Analysis:
    • Assist in the analysis of strategic initiatives to provide insight to financial impact of business decisions
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to gain further understanding and build efficiencies/effectiveness in current processes
    • Develop analytical framework for making financially-driven product decisions
    • Participate in the month-end closing process
    • Develop and validate product costing

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years related experience

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices and chart of accounts

  • Understanding of A/P, A/R, general ledger, and fixed asset systems and technologies

  • Proficient in the use of personal computers using Microsoft Office Suite products; including Excel
